Kirk J. Koogler, OD

Dr. Koogler graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in May of 1995. He gained valuable learning experiences from externship sites at Houston Eye Associates, Hermann Eye Clinic, and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Dr. Koogler is a member in good standing of the Tarrant County Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. In addition, he takes continuing education classes to stay current with advancements in his field.

Dr. Koogler opened Southlake Family Eye Care in January of 1997. He chose Southlake as the location for his private practice because it is a dynamic community with excellent schools. Dr. Koogler and his wife have two children, and are excited about their opportunity to serve the ophthalmic needs of Southlake and its surrounding communities.

Kim is our office manager—and the doctor’s wife—who has been the heart of Southlake Family Eye Care since day one! Kim is a Certified ParaOptometric, holds a degree in Business Composite Teacher Education, and has a passion for staying up to date through continuing education. She brings both knowledge and dedication to everything she does...from mastering insurance and billing to helping you find the perfect glasses or contacts, Kim truly keeps the entire office running smoothly. In her very rare free time, she loves diving into a good book, getting creative with crafts, traveling, and making memories with friends and family.

​Kelsey is our go-to office technician and contact lens expert, bringing great energy and attention to detail to every patient interaction. Outside the office, her world revolves around spending time with her dog, along with enjoying Netflix, concerts, and making memories with her large family and friends. She’s passionate about creating a positive experience for every patient and always goes the extra mile to ensure everyone feels comfortable, cared for, and leaves with a smile.

Nycol serves as our Receptionist and Insurance Coordinator, bringing warmth and organization to the front office. A dedicated mom to one child and three beloved fur babies, she spent 15 fulfilling years as a stay-at-home mom—a role she truly cherished. Nycol is also a certified yoga teacher and is currently working toward her Optometric Billing and Coding certification, further expanding her expertise in the field. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, reading, practicing yoga and Pilates, spending time in nature, and being with her family.

Tiffany is our optician with 6 years in the field, and is passionate about helping people see clearly and feel confident in their eyewear. She focuses on creating a personalized experience, guiding each patient through lens options and frame choices that fit their lifestyle, comfort, and style. Her goal is to make the process simple, informative, and tailored so every patient leaves feeling confident in both their vision and their look. Outside of work, Tiffany values spending time with her loved ones and maintaining a balanced lifestyle, which helps her bring a positive, approachable energy to everything she does.
